Our Director, Evelyn Clark, has been named the winner of the Young Professional Award at the 2026 MFAA Victorian State Excellence Awards, celebrated at The Ritz-Carlton in Melbourne. It’s a proud milestone for Evelyn and for everyone at Everlend, and a recognition we couldn’t be happier to see.
For us, this award is about so much more than a trophy. It reflects the way Evelyn shows up for clients every day, with genuine care, sharp expertise, and an unwavering commitment to helping people build prosperous financial futures. That’s the heart of what we do at Everlend, and it’s lovely to see it acknowledged on one of the industry’s biggest stages.
A little about the MFAA and its Excellence Awards
For those outside the industry, the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) is the peak national body for the country’s mortgage and finance broking profession. Established in 1980, it now represents more than 16,000 members, including brokers, aggregators, lenders and industry partners, and works to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and consumer trust across the sector. With brokers now writing the majority of all new home loans in Australia, the MFAA plays an important role in supporting a competitive, healthy lending market that gives borrowers real choice.
The MFAA Excellence Awards, now in their 23rd year, are among the longest-standing and most respected recognition programs in Australian finance. They span 26 categories across individual brokers, businesses, support professionals and lenders, and this year attracted a record number of submissions, a real sign of the depth of talent across the industry.
What makes the awards especially meaningful is how they’re judged. Entries are assessed independently against clear criteria that look well beyond settlement volumes, focusing instead on professionalism, integrity and genuine client outcomes. Results are independently audited to ensure fairness and transparency. In other words, this isn’t an award you can win on numbers alone. It’s earned through the quality of the work and the difference you make for the people you serve.
What the Young Professional Award means
The Young Professional Award celebrates the rising talent shaping the future of the broking profession: those who combine technical skill with strong client relationships and a clear commitment to doing things properly. To be recognised in this category is to be acknowledged as one of the industry’s emerging leaders, and it speaks volumes about the standard Evelyn sets in everything she does.
Giving back, beyond the business
A huge part of this recognition comes from something close to Evelyn’s heart: her commitment to helping women and children in Africa and Bangladesh. Each year, she organises Charity Dinners and Auctions to mark International Women’s Day, bringing the community together for a cause she cares deeply about.
This year, her International Women’s Day Charity Gala raised more than $40,000, supporting programs that empower women and children across Africa and Bangladesh. It’s a wonderful reflection of who Evelyn is, not just an exceptional broker, but someone genuinely dedicated to making a difference well beyond the world of finance. The MFAA Excellence Awards look closely at a nominee’s contribution to their community, and Evelyn’s work here speaks for itself.
Next stop: the National Excellence Awards
The exciting news doesn’t stop in Victoria. As a state winner, Evelyn now progresses automatically as a finalist in the MFAA National Excellence Awards 2026, where state champions from across the country come together to be recognised at a national level.
The National Awards will be held on Wednesday 22 July at Crown Melbourne, and you can be sure the whole Everlend team will be cheering Evelyn on.
